The “all you can eat” buffet was good. But it is lovely having the full “order off the menu” back at 1823. Last night, my son Luke and I had dinner there. It was fun connecting with students, alums, and friends over the course of two hours or so. During the summer and at the height of COVID, the terrace was my preferred dining venue. But with rain and the cold descending, Luke and I dined inside. The service was prompt and efficient and the atmosphere was intimate. It was a lovely experience.
Every restaurant in this post-Covid season is reopening with some challenges. 1823 is no exception. But last night was reassuring. It was a good dining experience. I spoke to one friend of the Seminary who comes four nights a week. They love seeing the future of the Church in this informal relaxed environment.
The range of beverages is good. Luke had water for the evening, but he did note approvingly the good range of non-alcoholic options on the menu. We really want everyone to feel comfortable dining in the space.
