The Center for Anglican Communion Studies continues to bring speakers from all over the Anglican Communion to our home here in northern Virginia. Tomorrow, at 12:45 in the Lettie Pate Evans Room, we are fortunate to have a priest from the Anglican Church of Southern Africa speak with us via livestream in the next CACS lunchtime forum, the Rev. Natalie Arendse.
The Rev. Arendse is the Associate Rector at St. John’s Parish Wynberg in Cape Town, and has previously worked as a school chaplain, in theological education, and in interfaith work. She will focus her presentation tomorrow on her current parish’s Leadership Academy as a model for contextual leadership development the Church. It is always generative to learn how theological formation occurs in contexts other than one’s own – both for our current formation and for the formation we will offer others in future ministry.
The Rev. Arendse was originally scheduled to come to VTS as a CACS Communion Sabbatical guest, but she is unable to be with us tomorrow in person due to visa issues – this forum will be a great chance to meet her before she visits us on campus next fall.
For more information and to register, visit the CACS Eventbrite page. The event will also be live streamed on the CACS Facebook page.
