It almost sounds like a joke. What do a Muslim, a Presbyterian, a member of the Orthodox Churches, and an Evangelical have in common? The answer, however, is a classic VTS answer: they’re all speaking at the conference on interfaith and ecumenical initiatives in theological education today. We’re gathering in Bicentennial Hall, and at 9:00 we will have the first paper. It goes through to 5:00. If you’re interested in ecumenism and interfaith, then you want to be involved in this conversation.
In the evening, there will be a reception in the Welcome Centre. All are invited. It will be honoring the Reverend Dr. Larry Goleman, who is the retiring executive director of the Washington Theological Consortium. He has played this role for 15 years and done the work exceptionally well. We’re delighted to celebrate his service.
There are many opportunities at VTS, too many to participate in all of them, so pick and choose carefully. If your interests are ecumenism and interfaith, then this is a really good opportunity to connect with some of the leading people, not just in the country but in the world.
