A must go dinner for Middlers and Seniors

Date: September 26, 2024

For those who are preparing to enter the ordained ministry of the Episcopal Church, there is a must attend dinner. The Church Pension Group is coming to Virginia Theological Seminary. The program they are introducing is called From Ordination through Retirement: Navigating Your Clergy Benefits with the Church Pension Group.

The complimentary dinner and presentation hosted by the Church Pension Group (CPG) will take place on Thursday, October 24 in the Lettie Pate Evans Room. Check-in begins at 5:45 PM, followed by the dinner and presentation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. For over 100 years, CPG has been committed to supporting the clergy of The Episcopal Church in their calling to spread the gospel—from ordination through retirement. This event offers you a unique opportunity to gain practical insights and learn about the extensive resources made available to you.

Why attend?

  1. Prepare for Your Future Ministry: Discover how to document your ordination, learn about available financial and health benefits, and gain a clear understanding of how to qualify for the Clergy Pension Plan.
  2. Get Practical Tools and Resources: Learn about well-being resources that can help support you and your loved ones as you focus on your ministry.
  3. Connect and Unwind: Following the presentation, continue the conversation over refreshments with your peers and Church Pension Group representatives.

Who should attend?

Middlers, seniors, and students in Anglican Studies who are preparing for ordination to the priesthood in The Episcopal Church. You’re encouraged to bring your spouse or partner to make the most of this valuable experience. Additional information and registration details will be provided soon. I highly encourage you to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to begin your relationship with the Church Pension Group—a relationship you’ll have throughout your ministry. I look forward to your participation.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary
