A Warm Welcome to the Rev. Akua Ofori-Boateng

Date: September 26, 2022

One of the great joys of life at the Seminary is the near-constant presence of distinguished visitors from across the churches of the Anglican Communion. We have another opportunity to greet a special guest tomorrow, the Rev. Akua Ofori-Boateng, a priest in the Anglican Church of Ghana and the Director of Programmes in the Diocese of Accra. The Rev. Ofori-Boateng will be with us through October 14th as a Communion Sabbatical Visitor hosted by the Center for Anglican Communion Studies.

I encourage you to greet the Rev. Ofori-Boateng warmly as you see her around campus in appreciation of the gift of her presence with us. Some of the richest moments of life at the Seminary can occur through the chance meetings and interactions we share with visitors and guests. Do take the opportunity to be bold and sit with the Rev. Ofori-Boateng at lunch or say hello to her if you pass each other walking along the grove.

CACS will be hosting a forum with the Rev. Ofori-Boateng on Tuesday, October 4 from 12:45 to 1:45 pm in the Lettie Pate Evans Room and via streaming on the CACS Facebook page. She will discuss the historical development in the Anglican Church in Ghana of the ordination of women. For more information and to register for the forum, visit the VTS Eventbrite page here. Register no later than today and CACS will provide a box lunch for you!

Thank you to CACS for this rewarding opportunity!

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President
