Today we have the Alumni Executive Committee meet. This is one of the most important organizations in the seminary. It is the bridge between the present and the past. Our effectiveness as an institution is heavily shaped by our alumni. It is the alumni who were formed by this place and are now out in parishes and in different ministry settings, serving the gospel.
We’re very grateful to the Executive Committee and their hard work. This is the organizational hub of the Alumni. They are responsible for offering their perspective to the administration and the Board and simultaneously keeping the alumni informed. The effectiveness of Virginia Theological Seminary is heavily dependent on the alumni, its prayers, and its gifts. Today, if you see somebody perhaps sitting by themselves at lunch or breakfast, go across. You might well make an important connection to the past.
