Senior Vice President Nicky Burridge is in the middle of a whirlwind set of presentations. There is an acute debate amongst specialists in faith-based higher education about how best to communicate the achievements and witness of their programming. Nicky Burridge has just returned from a conference in London, where she gave the keynote address. And next week is heading to the Episcopal Communicators Conference, where she is also leading a workshop..
Communication is a priority. Nicky takes the regular skills that are taught in media and communications courses and applies and modifies those skills for a faith-based setting. The result is a set of values that shape the messaging, namely authenticity, consistency and transparency, which are key to building trust. Trust is not just important in a practical sense (because you want readers to know your news is reliable) but it is important as a value of a faith-based organization.
We are grateful for her profile in this world; and we are grateful that Nicky is working for VTS and GTS.
