An important week looms

Date: May 5, 2025

As we run into the week of Board meetings and Commencement, I am very grateful to everyone who is working hard to make this a special occasion. Facilities are ensuring that the campus look stunning. Sixty new trees were planted last week. Our contract staff in grounds and cleaning have done a fabulous job in making sure spaces are elegant and clean. AASL has been checking and rechecking graduation plans. Finance and the Library have been available to clear student accounts of bills and books. Communications and IA are getting ready to share the news of Commencement, including organizing the Washington Post announcement. The Dean’s Office is finalizing the Board meetings, organizing accommodation for guests, and making sure zoom links work. Everyone is playing a role as we run into his important week.

A big thank you to everyone. It is an important occasion as we ensure effective governance by the Board of Trustees and an appropriate celebration of their years of study. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary.
