I woke up this morning early. I was having breakfast with Bishop Rose Okeno. She is the first diocesan Bishop in the Church of Kenya. I listened and marveled as she shared her journey – both the joys and challenges of her ministry.
I was especially touched by the moving affirmation of the community’s welcome. She has found VTS home. She has loved, without exception, meeting students, staff and faculty.
And I was delighted that she has fallen in love with our library. Sometimes she would forget the time as she buried her head in a book. It was a lovely moment of affirmation that VTS can work its magic. Thank you to everyone who made her stay so moving and impactful.
