Board Committee Meetings

Date: April 29, 2024

This is the season of Board Committee Meetings. The Academic Affairs Committee has met (they have voted the graduates for the full Board to receive); the Finance Committee has met (they have recommended a budget to the full Board); and the Community Life Committee has met (they have approved some handbook changes). In each case, there are key staff and faculty around the campus who navigate the complexity of these committees. I am always impressed by the quality of the conversations. The questions are good and thoughtful. In every case, the administration is asked to explore this or that question. This is how it should be.

I know the Board committee season comes at a busy time for the Seminary. The run into the end of the academic year is exhausting. So, I am grateful for those who are doing the organizing. And I am also grateful for our Board members who give so generously of their time. They are unpaid volunteers who work hard. Thank you members of the Board of Trustees.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary
