Building for the Future: Summer Facilities Updates at VTS

Date: July 10, 2025

As the pace of campus life slows for the summer, the Facilities Department at Virginia Theological Seminary ramps up its efforts in preparation for the upcoming academic year. This season of vacant rooms and apartments provides a valuable window for preventive maintenance, capital improvement projects, and thorough housekeeping.

This summer’s capital projects include significant renovations to Communion Hall, Potomac Hall, Price Hall, and the Wilderness. Communion Hall now features brand new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring and fresh paint. Potomac Hall will undergo similar updates starting July 21. At Price Hall, we have completed major roof repairs and installed new windows.

We are especially excited about the transformation of the Wilderness, which will soon open its doors to campus visitors. The building now features seven guest rooms, each with newly renovated private bathrooms.  This historic building is one of the oldest on campus and will be a wonderful addition to our guest housing suite of choices.

In addition, with the support of our contractors, we are preparing 18 student housing apartments for new students arriving on August 1. Our facilities technicians and housekeeping staff have also been hard at work readying dormitories to welcome participants in this summer’s Doctoral Program.

We are energized by all the progress made and look forward to welcoming new and returning members of the VTS community this fall. Special thanks to our Facilities team and contractors for their continued dedication and hard work in making these improvements possible. So, when you see Griffin, Cristina, Teresa, Mohamed, Tom, Tim Victor, Jose, Stuart and Santino do take the time to say hello and thank them for all that they do here at the Seminary.
