Date: April 19, 2021
Tomorrow, April 20th at 12:45 p.m., our Center for Anglican Communion Studies is hosting another fascinating webinar entitled “Green Anglicanism: Understanding Ecological Justice Theologically.”
This virtual forum features Bishop Paul Sarker, former moderator of the Church of Bangladesh, a position equivalent to Primate. Bishop Sarker has been a strong voice over the years in the Green Anglican and Eco-Bishops networks. We were honored to hear him preach last Friday and it will be a special opportunity to hear him tomorrow.
The forum will also feature the Rev. Canon Dr. Rachel Mash, provincial coordinator of Green Anglicans. Just last week the Archbishop of Canterbury awarded Canon Mash the Cross of St Augustine for “raising awareness of the urgent need to implement the Fifth Mark of Mission in the Anglican Communion.” The Fifth Mark of Mission is “to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.”
Due to internet irregularities in Bangladesh, Bishop Sarker will join us tomorrow only through a recorded video presentation. However, our very own Dr. Hannah Matis, Associate Professor of Church History, will moderate a live conversation with Canon Mash.
It promises to be a captivating opportunity to hear from three important witnesses on the topic of ecological Justice. Please do join.
The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President
