During the doctoral summer intensive which starts on June 16, we will have worship Monday through Friday at noon in the Immanuel Chapel. An opening Eucharist begins our time together on June 16 and a closing Eucharist completes the summer residency on July 4. Other days we share noonday prayer between class and lunch. Given the interdenominational representation of VTS doctoral programs, services will draw from a number of denominational traditions. All are welcome, please join us! We will also have Morning Prayer daily in the Oratory at 7am and compline most evenings in Scott Lounge at 9pm.
We’re so pleased to welcome back Dr. Lyn Loewi as our summer musician this year. Dr. Loewi serves as Associate Organist at Saint John’s Church, Lafayette Square. Her musicianship and her spirit were a gift to our residency the last few years. Her music captures the spirit of our residency! We’re also grateful to Ellen Johnston who assembled wonderful liturgies this year, and to Dr. Marty Wheeler Burnett and Dr. Shawn Strout for their gracious and careful support of these services.
