Collaborating with VTS Faculty

Date: August 5, 2026

Lifelong Learning public programs represent a mix of in-person and online offerings that make the wisdom and expertise of Christian formation and theological leaders available to a diverse audience of learners. It’s become common for these programs to be led by a member of the Virginia Theological Seminary faculty. Professors Shawn Strout, Kyle Lambelet, Katherine Grieb presented a program during 2025-2026. This fall, we’ll looking forward to Reading Daniel in Uncertain times with Prof. Stephen Cook and The Shape of Moral Leadership: Courage in a Changing Church with former Vice President for Lifelong Learning Lisa Kimball and VTS Dean Ian Markham.

One of the rewarding roles Lifelong Learning plays in the life of the Episcopal Church and beyond is serving as a bridge between lay persons seeking to activate their Baptismal vows and the community of theological and spiritual formation practioners at VTS. Creating opportunities for the two to connect is a blessing for all involved!
