If you track down a copy of the Washington Post for today, then you will see a very interesting advert. It is an advert placed by Virginia Theological Seminary to recognize the extraordinary achievement of our graduates. Each year, we send out a new group of congregational leaders who will bring an energy and passion to the Church. This year is no exception. We are proud of our graduates.
Life in ministry is hard. There are complexities and challenges. We are a post-Covid church navigating a deeply polarized environment. There is a Gospel to preach, a witness to provide, and people to be fed sacramentally and pastorally. We pray for our graduates. And we pray that the resources of their VTS years will stand them in good stead.
It is a joy to have Dr. Ellen Davis as our Commencement speaker. She is a reminder of our mantra that “once you are part of VTS, then you are always part of VTS”. Ellen served on the Faculty of VTS for five years. It is a joy to welcome her home.
