Congratulations to Stephen Redmon

Date: January 23, 2025

“Christ Moves Now” is a “faith-based holistic wellness practice.” So, the back cover of Dr. Stephen Redmon’s book explains. It is an intriguing book. Using the QR code, you are taken to a video where you can exercise, stretch, and participate in basic Yoga. Then there are a variety of other faith based exercises that reflect on questions around inspiration, service, and power. It is a book intended to invite the reader into this holistic scheme of yoga, reflection, and prayer for twenty-eight days.

The idea is simple, yet profound. We are thinking of the whole person – body and mind. We are seeing physical fitness as an appropriate act of care of the temple of the Holy Spirit. This is a new way of doing devotions. Instead of simply kneeling or saying the office, one is invited to move and exercise. It is healthy and important.

Congratulations to Stephen. As we slowly approach Lent, I recommend this to all readers of the commentary. Let us take something up rather than deny ourselves something. Let us take up caring for our remarkable body.
