Today we welcome the Rev. Dr. James Hawkey to the campus. He is the Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey in London. Previously he was the Dean and Director of Studies in Theology at Clare College, Cambridge. It is a joy to have him with us on the campus. He did both his undergraduate and doctoral work at the University of Cambridge; and he was trained for the priesthood at Westcott House.
Our Deanery Evenings are a lovely way of bringing guests to the campus. Tonight is no exception. This is the joy of Virginia Theological Seminary, we are a crossroads for much of the Anglican Communion. We can hear from theologians around the world.
As you take table fellowship at breakfast, lunch and dinner, do say hello to the guest. You might find yourself chatting to the Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey.
