It was a fabulous lecture by Dr. Brian Bantum last night. It was a careful exploration of different forms of identity; and it was an advocacy for a form of identity that is less polarizing and more dynamic. Students will have the opportunity to discuss the lecture in their formation groups. The Rev. Dr. Joseph Thompson has helpfully provided some questions to frame the discussion.
Tonight at 5.15pm, we will have a Eucharist which is honoring Dr. King with a sermon by the Rev. Canon Altagracia Perez-Bullard, Ph.D. Again this is a required event: students are expected to attend.
I am grateful to our Associate Dean of Multicultural Ministries – the Rev. Dr. Joseph Thompson – and his team for their hard work in putting together this important program. Thank you Joe. This is vitally important work.
