Moving Forward with Facilities Operations

I have been working at the Seminary in the maintenance department for 13 years and as of January this current year, my position changed from Maintenance Director to Director of Facilities Operations. With that came new responsibilities and challenges that have forced me out of my comfort zone and resulted in expanding my knowledge base.

I have learned a lot during my time at the Seminary and I continue to grow by challenging myself to see what I can do to make a difference for the betterment of the workplace. I strive to do my best with overseeing the maintenance department, housekeeping, Sodexo, and the mail center. Although it may seem overwhelming at times, I could not do it without my hardworking dedicated coworkers. With efficiency they help make the day-to-day workload seem seamless. They have proven to me what work family is all about, especially during this last difficult year and a half. It has been challenging for all of us to say the least, but it brought ease knowing that we are all in it together.

During these trying times, we came together to face challenges head on, adapting to the changes with the singular goal of making sure that all staff, faculty, and students were safe to work and learn at the Seminary. The Seminary has evolved and overcome a lot with the new changes the pandemic has presented, and I am proud to say that the Seminary is my place of work. I look forward to better circumstances and many more years at the Seminary.
