Faculty Retreat

Date: January 22, 2024

It is our practice to have a Faculty Retreat in January. We are midway through the academic year; it is the start of a new calendar year; and it is pause between semesters. We gather our thoughts, reflect, discuss, and share. With our accreditation visit looming in February, this is an important moment.

Unfortunately, I was still recovering from my operation. So I missed the start, which involved a Eucharist in the Chapel followed by some relaxing play in the Flamingo. The health benefits of play are considerable: play enables us to see each other in a different light. I am sure it was a fun evening.

Today the focus is work. As we embark on our third century of service, we need to think about our role as a Faculty. So, the focus is on collegiality and community. How can we work effectively and faithfully together?

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
