Our students have the opportunity to preach in class, our own chapel and at their Contextual Ministry sites. But rarely are we provided with an occasion to preach to a gathering of students from other seminaries. This weekend, the Washington Theological Consortium Student Board is hosting its 10th annual Sermon Slam at Howard University and we are honored that Anglican Studies student Stefi Baiju will be Virginia Theological Seminary’s representative.
Stefi is a Dalit Christian woman from South India who is passionate about Christian ministry and constantly growing in Christ. She will be a fine representative of our student body and our institution to our siblings in the WTC, from Roman Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, and other Christian traditions.
If you would like to hear some excellent student preaching from Stefi and the other seminary preachers, the Sermon Slam will take place at Howard’s Dunbarton Chapel from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 29. I am certain she would love to see familiar and supportive faces. Here is a link to rsvp.
