Flu Clinic: Friday, September 18

Date: September 14, 2026

The annual flu clinic returns to campus on Friday, September 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in LPER. Healthcare professionals will be on site to administer this season’s vaccine at no cost to students, faculty, staff, and members of their households.

The clinic is offered each year as a matter of practical convenience, but it is worth pausing on why it matters. A seminary is a community that lives closely together. We share classrooms, chapel, refectory tables, and residential buildings. What one person carries into that shared life, others receive. Influenza is rarely a serious illness for the healthy adult, yet it can be dangerous, even life threatening, for those among us who are immunocompromised, who are older, who are pregnant, or who care for infants and the frail. Many of these neighbors are not visibly identifiable. Some will never mention their vulnerability at all.

To be vaccinated is therefore not only an act of self care. It is a small, concrete way of taking responsibility for the health of the whole body. It is free, it asks only a few minutes, and it extends protection to people who cannot fully protect themselves.

Those who wish to participate are encouraged to pre-register, which shortens the wait on the day: https://www.safeway.com/vaccinations/group-clinic/vts2026

Walk-ins will also be welcome throughout the clinic hours. Questions may be directed to the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Life.
