Date: November 20, 2020

Yesterday at 1 p.m., the Dean’s Table gathered. Chaired by Student Body President Dillon Green, it was another well-run meeting. The Student Government Officers go first. Each one is invited to report on any issues that they wish to share with the administration. Questions are asked; vice presidents provide responses. It is an important vehicle of conversation and communication. In a year which has been so turbulent, the Dean’s Table has, in comparison, been an oasis of calm. Plenty of difficult issues have been discussed. But the tone has always been respectful, thoughtful, and open to an explanation of the complexities.  This was the last Dean’s Table for this semester. It was therefore the last Dean’s Table for Dillon and for some of the other senior officers. I took the opportunity to express my gratitude. Dillon has been a delightful president. He represents the concerns of the Student Body with appropriate vigor and, simultaneously, he radiates a calm which is helpful in these times. So thank you, Dillon. Thank you to the entire Dean’s Table for the calendar year 2020. What a year it has been. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
