Yesterday we celebrated our founding in 1823 by inviting all of our friends and alumni to participate in our annual Giving Day tradition! By 4:00 yesterday, this 24-hour event had raised more than $28,000 for renovations to the Bishop Payne Library through the Bicentennial Campaign. Hundreds of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends shared messages of inspiration on campus and on social media. Thank you to all who gave, shared messages, or helped spread the word! Thanks to the generosity of The Cabell Foundation and The Mary Morton Parsons Foundation, those gifts unlocked an additional $14,000 in support of the Library’s renovations. With these challenge grants, we acknowledge an important truth: God calls us to accomplish together that which we would never be able to do alone. At VTS, gifts of every size matter; Bicentennial Campaign gifts will come together to empower our third century of service to Christ. Watch next week’s Communique for final Giving Day results. The challenge grants continue through November 30 for Mary Morton Parsons Foundation and December 31 for Cabell Foundation, so it’s not too late to give now. Every gift matters, now more than ever.  Get inspired! Please contact Jennifer Greiner, Director of the Annual Fund at jgreiner@vts.edu or 703.461.1712 if you have questions about Giving Day or the Annual Fund. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.  Dean and President
