Goats on campus

Date: April 25, 2024

It is true: goats are an excellent eco-friendly way of clearing undergrowth and ground cover. Goats eat anything: they love brambles and yes poison ivy. So, cultivate VTS decided we needed to find some goats to clear the poison ivy from the south garden of the chapel. It is not easy to find goats for hire, but thanks to a variety of connections, we now have two goats chewing the poison ivy in the south garden.

My wife Lesley has been campaigning for goats for several years. She is delighted that the goats have now arrived. She has a long list of areas where she thinks goats should be invited to settle in. The area on Trotter Bowl, near Episcopal High School, is high on her list.

So, congratulations to cultivate VTS. You have brought some joy to the Markham household.
