GOE results are out

Date: February 17, 2026

It is always a little stressful at this moment. Some are pleased; they are proficient in all six areas. Others are disappointed. The gift of community is to ensure that we honor the different places we are all in. Perhaps do not celebrate too much, and do not let yourself be defined by one set of examinations.

Do remember that the Seminary is more than happy to advocate for any particular student who would like to start a conversation with the diocese about the best way forward. Officially, GOE results are intended to be advisory—one tool among many. However, unofficially, diocesan practice varies considerably from bishop to bishop. So do reach out if you would like some help in having these conversations with a diocese.

Three-hour examinations are a distinctive skill set. Some are really good at them; others prefer different modes of assessment. My recommendation is that you be very gentle with yourself as you navigate this moment.
