GTS and VTS students meet up

Date: January 16, 2025

Last week there was a proposed snowball fight between GTS and VTS. The winner would get to keep the very popular the Rev. Dr. Bob Flanagan. GTS responded to the offer in Latin and offered peace terms. This week, the GTS suggested that the VTS students come over to the Deanery for some sharing. So last night, they gathered in the Deanery.

This is all very good and healthy. One gift of seminary is the network. As you are formed, so you become ever closer to your co-travelers. Seminary creates lifelong friendships. Widening those friendships and widening the network are healthy and exciting opportunities.

Thank you VTS students for the welcome. Thank you, GTS students, for being so open to making connections.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary
