Guests on campus

Date: December 7, 2022

One cool aspect of life at Virginia Theological Seminary is that we constantly have exciting guests on the campus. On Monday, I met with Bishop Chilongani from Tanzania; he was staying on the campus on the way to New York. He is the Bishop of the largest Anglican diocese in the world. The diocese of Central Tanganyika has an estimated 600,000 Anglicans.

Tonight Dr. Meg Barber is speaking in the Deanery. Meg is a national security professional, with an interest in global security. She is a specialist in inviting religious leaders to learn how to be a frontline responders to national and international crises. She will explain how a priest can guide their congregations through such difficult times. While she teaches at Georgetown University, it is fabulous that tonight she is here with us.

And, of course, on Sunday, we have Mr. Jon Meacham speaking on Sunday afternoon, after which he will receive the Dean’s Cross at our Lessons and Carols service.

Just a typical week at VTS.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
