What a popular saying, an offer of service, this has become. I often questioned whether it is a genuine offer, or is it something said out of obligation, as a tag line, or even a requirement for one’s employment. “Happy to Help” is meaningless without action. For this reason, I want to give a “shout out” to our awesome Facilities Team!
A few weeks ago, my air conditioning stopped working. I submitted a maintenance request for repair. Tim came to my office to check on the air conditioning unit, he explained to me what the problem was, what it would take to repair it, and how long. A day or so later, I came into the office and found Tim dismantling the unit to begin the repair. Again, within a day or so I had air conditioning. I must add, this around the time we were experiencing 90-degree weather. The Facilities Team may or may not say “Happy to Help,” for me, it is not necessary, it is clear in their actions and attitude.
