Date: September 26, 2023
We have been delighted to have The Reverend Canon Natalie Arendse at VTS for the past week as a Communion Sabbatical visitor with the Center for Anglican Communion Studies (CACS). Today she will share with us “Has the Anglican Church in South Africa Lost her Prophetic Voice?” in a forum in the Lettie Pate Evans Room (LPER) from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Even if you did not register in advance, please do make plans to join today.
When not on sabbatical, Natalie serves as the Associate Rector at St. John’s Parish in Wynberg, Cape Town, South Africa. She has previously served as the chaplain at St. Cyprian’s School in Cape Town, and as the Regional Director for Auburn Theological Seminary in New York. She has also served on the Executive Committee of the Cape Town Interfaith Initiative.
We are honored to welcome Rev. Arendse to VTS and are grateful for her preaching in the chapel and offering this forum to the community during her time here. She will be with us until October 6th and then return to us as part of the Commission on Theological Education in the Anglican Communion, October 16-20. Please do take the opportunity to learn from her, and to share with her, while she is here.
The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
