Senior Vice President Nicky Burridge and I are in Lake Forest, Illinois, where we are enjoying time with members of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Our visit has been a delight as we reconnect with friends and supporters of our work and mission. It is always encouraging to spend time with those who care deeply about theological education and the life of the Church.
We are especially grateful to the rector, the Rev. Luke Back, who graciously welcomed us and helped make this visit possible. Luke also serves as a valued member of the Boards of both the Virginia Theological Seminary and the General Theological Seminary, and we deeply appreciate his leadership and commitment. It is a joy to spend time with someone who serves both the parish and the wider Church with such dedication.
While we confess that we are missing the warm weather of Alexandria, the welcome we have received here more than compensates for the colder temperatures. The warmth of the people we are meeting has made this visit truly special. We leave grateful for the fellowship, encouragement, and shared sense of mission.
