Last Monday, the faculty had a day-long faculty meeting. It was rich in conversation and deliberation. Topics as far-ranging as the ATS accreditation visit, to requests for students to transfer from the M.A. to the M.Div. program, were considered. The day culminated in singing Christmas carols (and yes, Dr. Farwell and Dr. Strout did agree, albeit nervously) in Scott Lounge.
I took the opportunity to conclude the meeting with gratitude. I have served in several institutions around the world; in addition, I know of the faculty dynamics in many more. I can honestly say that in terms of collegiality and commitment to the mission this is the best faculty that I have ever worked with. It is truly a privilege.
The publishing record of this faculty is remarkable; their commitment to a high-quality teaching experience is total, and their desire to produce graduates who love the Lord Jesus and are ready to make a difference is strong. Thank you, faculty colleagues; I love working with you.
