Lambeth Conference 2022 Digest

Date: September 19, 2022

This summer I had the privilege of attending the 15th Lambeth Conference, the (usually) decennial gathering of Anglican bishops from provinces around the Communion, held in Canterbury in the United Kingdom. It was lovely to see old friends and alumni attending the conference as bishops and primates, to make new connections, and to learn what God is doing in the diverse and complex realities of our worldwide Communion.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 20 from 12:45 to 1:45pm in the Lettie Pate Evans Room and via Facebook Live, I will be participating in a forum on this summer’s Lambeth Conference hosted by the Center for Anglican Communion Studies with the Rev. Dr. Katherine Grieb and Ms. Ebonee Davis, fellow VTS Lambeth attendees. We hope to be able to share with you some of the on-the-ground joys, challenges and takeaways from the conference this summer. Register for the forum and find more information here.

Feel free to bring your lunch and any lingering questions you might have about the Lambeth Conference. I look forward to seeing you there.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President
