Leading a pilgrimage

Date: September 15, 2026

I love being here. And I also love traveling. Getting the balance between these two is tricky. With the pilgrimages that the Seminary organizes, I aspire to be present for at least a week of the trip. So this week, I am in England participating in the “Grace and Gardens Pilgrimage”. I will be joining the trips to St. Paul’s, Canterbury Cathedral, and the Cambridge days (especially Little Gidding). I fit it around teaching. So I leave on the Tuesday and arrive back on the Monday (in time for the class).

These pilgrimages are important. It is an opportunity to connect the Seminary with new friends. We depend on our friends who support us in prayer, advocacy, and philanthropically. As the Dean of the Seminary, my presence for a time is important.

I am grateful to Senior Vice President Knowles and the rest of the senior team who set in to ensure the continuing smooth running of the Seminary. Thank you everyone.
