Lifelong Learning Online Programming

Date: September 20, 2021

The department of Lifelong Learning offers a plethora of online programming, ranging from webinars to courses, and even retreats. Conversations on Race and Faith: The Sacred Ground Curriculum has been a transformative experience for many and there are two groups starting tomorrow, September 21. Whether your aim is to lead Sacred Ground in your own context down the road or not, these online cohorts are a good place to start. Other classes this fall include Deepening the Spirituality of Parishes and Jesus in the Qur’an.

Building Faith has a new “Basics” workshop series with the October 5 one on Intergenerational Ministry 101. If you have been wondering where to begin in making your ministries more intergenerational, Liz Perraud of GenOn Ministries and Sarah Bentley Allred,’19, will give you an introduction here.

May She Flourish: Research-Based Tools for Women in Ministry is a webinar series for women in ministry grounded in research from Wellbeing at Work. Through conversations with church leaders, these webinars will offer tools and tips on topics such as job searches, self-doubt, sexism, and more. Note that this series is free for seminarians.

In October, Lifelong Learning will host the inaugural Symposium on the Spirituality of Children, an online gathering for advanced study and discussion about the spirituality of children. The keynote speaker is Dr. Jerome Berryman (founder of Godly Play), and a number of well-known scholars and practitioners in the field will present research.

Of course, this is only a sneak peak at what’s coming up from Lifelong Learning. To stay up-to-date on the latest, follow the Virginia Theological Seminary Eventbrite.
