The promise was that it would take me fifteen minutes to enroll my wife in the long-term care insurance. It took me longer. I had to give her call; there were many details I did not know. However, finally, we connected; we are both now enrolled.
I completely understand that staff and faculty just don’t get around to enrolling for benefits. It is never a priority; it always takes longer than we expect. But in this case, it is important to remember that the Seminary is offering a benefit. Every full-time employee can get $25,000 of long-term care insurance which the Seminary will pay for provided you enroll. But we do need you to enroll.
In the journey of living and life, one prays that one will not ever need long-term health insurances. But the car accident can happen to anyone; we all face risks as we age; one never knows what one will need. The great thing about this benefit is that at whatever stage in life that you join, you will be forever that age as you age. It is also a portable product; you can continue to pay the premiums when you leave VTS. So, if you are young, then you can buy very cheaply a product that in your old age (or earlier) could save you thousands of dollars. Do please enroll; we want you to enjoy this benefit that we are seeking to provide.
