Next week is an important week for Virginia Theological Seminary. The faculty have been involved in searching for three potential new professors: one in theology, one in history, and one in New Testament. Some of the candidates who are finalists for these positions will be coming to the campus. Students are encouraged to attend the teaching demonstrations by these candidates. It is important that we attract faculty that can teach well as they will shape the lives of future generations of clergy.
In addition, there is a deanery evening on Wednesday, November 4, with Dr. Yehetzkel Landau. He is probably one of the most prominent Jewish peacemaking advocates, with deep connections with the Holy Land. He’s an important voice in the craft of peacemaking. I encourage you to attend that deanery evening.
The joy of Virginia Theological Seminary is all these other opportunities where you are invited as a member of the community to participate fully in searches and in hearing important contemporary voices in our world.
The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary.
