In 2002, Tami Shepherd joined the VTS staff as Registrar. As the spouse of a recent graduate, Tami was already familiar with the Seminary — which was a real asset for her, as well as for the faculty and students. There is so much to admire about Tami as a person and as a professional. Her attention to detail in all things and her capacity to remember people’s names and their individual stories are not just a skill, but a gift. Both Tim Sedgwick and Melody Knowles have said on multiple occasions how much they have relied on Tami’s knowledge of the curriculum and graduation requirements. Tami has worked tirelessly to ensure that students and faculty needs were met, doing everything she could to respond to specific needs and requests.
Organizations that thrive depend on employees who are willing to adapt, to learn, and accept new challenges and opportunities. In 2017, Tami became Technical Services and Acquisitions Technician in the Bishop Payne Library. Tami’s precision and attention to detail have again been an asset in her work and she has been able to share her kindness and wonderful sense of humor with new colleagues.
As Tami leaves us now to embark on a new path, we wish her all the best! The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
