Date: January 11, 2021
We begin this week with another silver lining of this pandemic season. Normally on this day in January, a dozen or so students and a faculty adviser would be embarking upon a pilgrimage in Jerusalem through our partnership with St. George’s College. This annual program is very special and, of course, is not happening in the usual way this year.
Instead, starting today on the Center for Anglican Communion Studies’ Facebook page and the VTS YouTube channel, we are sharing four videos that the College specially prepared for all of us in the VTS community. The videos, hosted by Dean Richard Sewell and previewed in the Center’s monthly Anglican Commentary, introduce you to the College and its vision, give a flavor of the pilgrimage program and prepare you for further offerings from the College for Lent.
We hope the videos will be uplifting for many in our VTS community: alumni who may want to reconnect with their past pilgrimages, current students who can get a taste of the wonderful opportunities offered by the College, and parish groups who may need a new focus on prayer and contemplation this year.
I give thanks for our brothers and sisters in Christ at St. George’s College, recommend these videos to you, and pray for the time we can safely be together again.
The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
