Experience does make things easier. Once one has faced a challenge, it is much easier to handle that challenge when it comes around again. The first time is always the hardest. This is important to remember as VTS navigates the pandemic. We are all doing this for the first time. So please be gentle, as I share a modification in the proposed antigen testing procedure. The original proposal called for a saliva test that required a machine to be transported from campus to campus; this has proved too complicated. So instead we will provide testing with a self-administered nasal swab. Please note the words “self-administered”. You will be invited to put the swab up your nose. There is no need to go to the far reaches of the nasal passage; you can take it to a place where it is comfortable and then return the swab to Nurse Julia.  As you can sense, determining the best procedure has been complicated. I am grateful for all those who are working hard to make this testing happen. The goal is to keep us safe.  The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
