Yesterday my wife and I had to pop into the Deanery to retrieve a table, which was in the basement. We did glance around the “School House,” and we were impressed. It looks lovely. One arrives to see an array of masks and hand sanitizer. Each child has a cubby in what was my study. And then clearly delineated work spaces which are over six feet apart. It is awesome! It feels both safe and effective. In the process of retrieving our table from the basement, Lesley and I moved some of those “old fashioned” board games into a box and a big black sack. Any parent who wants to go down to the basement to track down the black sack and the box of games should feel free to go and take a look. If anyone wants to hang on to history and play the actual board game of Risk instead of the app, then feel free to go and collect the game and take it with them. The remains will be taken to Goodwill next weekend. Come to that, with the exception of Luke’s school papers (although to be honest I am not sure what we are going to do with them), anyone who wants anything from the basement should feel free to take it. You too could pick up the kids soccer coaching gear that I have left down there…. Meanwhile congratulations to the parents who have created a lovely school house. It is impressive. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
