Construction starts today on two houses (Maywood and 3540 Trotter Road), which are being converted into apartments to provide more on-campus housing for students and their families. We currently average ten students and families living off-campus, receiving subsidies that cost the Seminary almost a quarter of a million dollars. The new apartments will save the Seminary a significant expense. Maywood will be turned into seven apartments for couples, each one with one bedroom, a kitchen, living area, and bathroom. The house on Trotter Road will be turned into three apartments for families, each with three bedrooms, a kitchen, living area, and bathroom. These new apartments will be in close proximity to other apartment buildings on campus, which will expand the “neighborhood” and help grow community. We anticipate that the conversion will take six months. Naturally these projects are complex and difficult. I am grateful to Vice President Jacqui Ballou who is overseeing the process. She brings considerable organizational and financial skills to this work. Thank you, Jacqui. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.  Dean and President
