How do you serve the Church in the midst of a pandemic? I am excited and impressed by the impact that Lifelong Learning is having. They use a variety of tools to reach the Church, and I was especially impressed by this webinar: Hope Incarnate: Planning Worship for Advent and Christmas. It took place on September 16th and garnered 700 registrations, with 524 live participants from all U.S. Episcopal provinces, Germany, and Canada. As Marty Wheeler Burnett, D.Min. eloquently stated, “Amid the challenges presented by the pandemic, there is also a remarkable opportunity for liturgical and musical creativity.”   By providing a wide variety of flexible resources, Lifelong Learning sought to equip church leaders to begin a new year with renewed hope. Dr. Lisa Kimball’s goal was to offer a webinar that provided helpful resources and fed the participants. This was accomplished with an opening meditation on Isaiah 61:1-4 by Judy Fentress-Williams, segments of presentation, and musical interludes (provided by Dr. Burnett), accompanied by elegant videos thanks to Kim Arakawa. Many thanks to all who worked to make this event a resounding success. The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
