For the next two months, the Dean’s Commentary will feature text by VTS & GTS faculty members writing about what they are teaching, reading, or writing about.
In 2026, VTS is transitioning to a new Student Information System that will better support the processes and documentation associated with a student’s progression from the Admissions process through graduation and beyond. Together we are working with students and faculty to ensure that the new system is user-friendly and reliably supports admissions, course registration, student advising, and student transcripts, while integrating smoothly with the Learning Management System.
The transition is using a phased approach. Work began in early 2025 with a complete audit of the user and academic data in the current Student Information System. The Admissions module was completed in late Summer 2025 in time to launch the new Admissions applications for the current Admissions cycle (you can access the new application on the VTS website).
Current students and faculty will receive their login credentials and orientation materials in early 2026 and current students will use the new registration system to register for their Fall 2026 courses. The transition is on track to be complete and ready for full student and faculty use for the Fall 2026 term.
We are excited about the possibilities that this system offers for better communication, documentation, and an overall better user experience for faculty and students.
