Date: March 10, 2022
Yesterday lunch time as the rain descended on the campus, I had the opportunity to say hello to Rachel Holm — our Registrar from 2017 to 2021. We joked about her departure last October and then, hey presto, she is back on the campus in March. She is assisting in vitally important ways towards the transition in AASL; but we also agreed that she was entitled to be on the campus because of the mantra “once you are part of VTS, you are always part of VTS.”
The mantra has an important message. Sure, VTS will be at moments frustrating and exhausting. Sure, there will be the inevitable moments of disappointment. This is true of all workplaces. However, we do aspire to be a place of connection. We aspire to be a place where you form friendships and share table fellowship with colleagues. We aspire to be a community, where memories are formed that stay with you.
We do welcome back those who have worked in the past at the Seminary. I enjoyed catching up with Rachel. And I am hoping she will visit often because, as we say, “Once you are part of VTS, you are always part of VTS.”
