One cannot be in two places at once

Date: November 8, 2023

Today in New York the Board meeting continues. So, this morning we have the Board meeting for General Theological Seminary. At the same time, in Alexandria, we have the anniversary celebration of the African American Episcopal Historical Collection (AAEHC). Sadly, one cannot be in two places at the same time.

The Eucharist is an appropriate setting to mark the 20th anniversary of the AAEHC. As we gather around the table and remember our Lord’s dying and rising again, so we gather around the table and remember the journey of African Americans in the Episcopal Church.

Meanwhile in New York, we are also embarking on holy work. Of the many options, which is the best direction to take? This will be the work of the Board this morning.

The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D.
The Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and the President of The General Theological Seminary
