One of the joys of summer in CACS is putting together the many pieces of our upcoming academic year program. As in past years, this year has a theme: the Anglican Communion in Latin America, including Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
While details are still being finalized, we can tell you that we will learn about refugees and immigration, theology and the arts, liturgical renewal in Brazil, and feminist and liberation theologies.
The first event will explore “How Colonialism Worked,” featuring a few of the “home team” (stay tuned!).
Our next event on October 5 will focus on prayerbook reform and the incarnation of liturgy in Brazil, with Paolo Ueti of the Anglican Communion Office and the Theological Education in the Anglican Communion Network (TEAC).
Our November 2 event will help us move beyond the stereotypes of Latin American spirituality.
The weekend of February 25-26, 2022, CACS will team up with Lifelong Learning to host a weekend course on Theology and the Arts in Latin America, with former Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold, Jackie Winter, former editor of Anglican Theological Review, and Dr. Mark D. Jordan of Harvard Divinity School.
In March and April we plan to have additional visitors from Latin America and beyond, as we prepare for General Convention and Lambeth Conference 2022.
Keep up with all CACS events by following us on Facebook here. Each event in the coming year will be a hybrid of both in-person and virtual participation. We hope you can join us!
