Opening a renovated 1823 while there is snow on the ground makes perfect sense. After all, one cannot sit on the terrace. So you have to go inside.
The new 1823 is a delight. It has moved from olde English style to a contemporary modern one. The art remains the same, but the space has been opened up, with new furniture and white walls. Last Thursday, Lesley and I joined the Rev. Lauren Banks (VTS ’21) for a delightful evening as it reopened. The service was excellent; the meal was good; and the atmosphere was perfect.
As we welcome both VTS and GTS students back to the campus and every room in the guest house full, it important to have this gathering place. Do go; it is a lovely space to enjoy.
