Roots & Wings: Intergenerational Formation Collaborative is a grant in the Lilly Endowment’s Nurturing Children in Worship & Prayer initiative. We began our work this spring with a review of the current literature around children’s spirituality and intergenerational ministry. Our team found, among other things, that there is a wealth of resources in both areas, but few relate specifically to Episcopal worship. Since our literature review, we have been hard at work creating a hub for the Episcopal expression of intergenerational worship. Our monthly email newsletter has over 500 subscribers, and we have published three new articles on Building Faith. I have been co-leading a monthly Intergenerational Ministry meetup through Forma and have connected with over twenty-five church leaders in a networking/coaching capacity. We are currently in the process of developing a fellowship program for liturgical decision makers interested in experimenting with intergenerational worship with the support of a peer-learning community.
