It is always the weekend just before Thanksgiving. The two largest religion organizations in the Academy gather for their annual meeting. Literally thousands of religion professors descend on an American city. Numerous publishers gather. Various organizations turn up to advocate and lobby. Endless papers are delivered. It is an extraordinary event.
Suddenly Virginia Theological Seminary feels empty. It seems like all the professors are away. And it is true that they away: they are attending the SBL or the AAR.
This year, as every year, we have several faculty delivering papers at various sessions. This reflects well on our faculty. It is an honor to be selected to deliver a paper on a panel. We wish our faculty all the best as they prepare their paper for delivery.
